Dental clinic coming to Burnside Dec. 15
CARE Clinic and Red Wing Public Schools will collaborate to provide a free dental clinic Dec. 15 to qualifying Burnside Elementary School students. Parents/guardians must complete an application to determine if their student is eligible for the free services. Contact the building nurses by calling 651-385-4700 to receive a registration form.
Remember: No school for elementary students Dec. 8
Elementary students will have Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, off so that Burnside and Sunnyside teachers can have mandatory LETRS training. LETRS stands for Language Essentials of Reading and Spelling; this is an intensive two-year professional development training on the science of reading. Festive Fridays are Back!
Every Friday in December is Festive Friday at RWHS. Students and staff are encouraged to get out those ugly sweaters, festive hats and holiday ties – and remember that Bow Tie Tuesday is every Tuesday of the year.
RWHS Black Student Union is Back
The Black Student Union, also known as BSU, is again holding regular meetings: 7:50-8:30 a.m. Tuesdays. This organization is a community built by Black students for all students to join and feel welcome. Students gather to discuss issues, organize get-togethers and help others. Come Hear Our Middle School Bands
You will be amazed to hear the progress our grades 6 and 7 bands have made already this year. Both ensembles will perform at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in the Red Wing High School Hovda Hall. For our sixth graders, this will be their first concert and first experience performing on the big stage.
