You will be amazed to hear the progress our grades 6 and 7 bands have made already this year. Both ensembles will perform at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in the Red Wing High School Hovda Hall. For our sixth graders, this will be their first concert and first experience performing on the big stage. They are coming together as a group.
The seventh graders have a full year under their wings and have made terrific gains in tone, tempo and technique.
Both bands are under the direction of teacher Mike Amend, who joined our district this year. “What you get out of band is what you put into band. If we make a commitment to work hard and help each other, we will achieve great things!” he said.
