Thursday’s World Café will explore vision, mission

Red Wing Public Schools will continue community engagement in strategic planning when the district hosts its second “We are RWPS World Café” on Feb. 22.

The event will run 5:30-6:45 p.m. Thursday in the Twin Bluff Middle School cafeteria and will first focus on defining values and then reimagining both the mission and vision statements. The statements have been in place for more than a decade, and much has changed in education and in Red Wing since that time, Superintendent Martina Wagner noted.

“We are asking students, parents, community members, Red Wing Public Schools staff and leaders to join us for a dialogue on what matters most in RWPS,” she said.

After hearing a brief introduction, participants will break into small groups. People will rotate three times to different tables, and there will be a bilingual table.

Each time a host will lead a 15-minute conversation and record comments anonymously. The goal is to discuss and brainstorm on critical issues and ideas to ensure the success of our students, district and community.

A town meeting-style conversation will follow to share discoveries and insights.
