Red Wing School Board members will hold the annual Truth-in-Taxation hearing, set the 2026 levy and approve the 2024-2025 audit. The business meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, in Red Wing High School room J110.
The Truth-in-Taxation hearing will take place at 6 p.m. Minnesota’s local governments hold these hearing to provide a formal venue for taxpayers to ask questions, comment on proposed budget increases, and voice their opinions on how their tax dollars are being spent. The district’s portion of the property tax levy has been dropping approximately $200,000 a year as enrollment declines and therefore per-pupil revenues do too.
