The Red Wing School Board is officially looking to sell the Jefferson building. Board members voted unanimously May 27 to have Superintendent Bob Jaszczak issue a request for proposals. The RFP process officially opened June 7 upon the publishing of legal notice in the Republican Eagle.
Interested parties have until 3 p.m. July 24, 2025, to submit proposals for purchasing the former school at 601 Buchanan St. All RFPs will be opened when the School Board convenes for its business meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 28.
The property includes the building, which is approximately 94,525 square feet, and 2.17 acres that includes a playground and green space. A site tour will be offered at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 18.
The district retains the right to select or reject any and all RFPs based on “the best interests and welfare of the District, the neighborhood, and the community, including, but not limited to, the best use of the property.” See the full specifications at www.rwps.org, RFP.
