Opening Doors for Future-Ready Students
Scholarships make it possible for students—regardless of background or circumstance—to explore advanced topics, gain hands-on experience, and build confidence in college-level setting
Through the generosity of Dwight and Dian Diercks, Wingers may seek scholarships to attend Focus camps at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. These scholarships are part of Flight Path 2030, our commitment to ensure every student is prepared for success in computing, data, and artificial intelligence.
The Experience
Students from Red Wing High School will board Amtrak in Red Wing and travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where a representative from the Milwaukee School of Engineering will pick them up and transport them to the University. Students will stay in MSOE dorms and participate in academic and social programs throughout their stay. Adult supervision is provided at all times. Students will be transported back to the Amtrak station to return to Red Wing at the completion of the camp.
What the Scholarships Cover
Tuition and program fees for selected MSOE summer experiences including Explore, Focus, and Women in Technology.
(Please note the Focus camps for Business, Nursing or Health Professions are not currently included in this scholarship program.)Meals, Entertainment, and Housing is included in tuition.
Travel stipend to cover round-trip Amtrak train ticket (travel to and from train station provided by MSOE).

Eligibility
Current high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors with an interest in STEM-related disciplines, regardless of experience.
3.5 GPA or above (or request an exception with a teacher/counselor recommendation)
Timeline for registration and applications
● Dec. 1: MSOE releases camp dates, opens public registration
● Dec. 6-Jan. 19: Application window
● Feb. 15: Scholarship recipients are notified
● March 1: Scholarship recipients must formally accept/decline their spot
● July: All summer camps will be held
Applicants not selected to receive a scholarship will be notified and are encouraged to register for and attend a summer camp at their own expense.
