School Board

Red Wing School Board summer 2023

The Red Wing School Board sets policy and oversees the financial integrity of the District. Seated from right are Director Anna Ostendorf, Superintendent Martina Wagner (ex-officio member), Director Nicky Buck; standing are Treasurer Rachel Marshall Schoenfelder, Director Terese Bjornstad, Chair Jim Bryant, Vice Chair Pam Roe and Clerk Jennifer Tift.

Committed to transparent leadership

A seven-member board governs Red Wing Public Schools. The board’s primary duties include ensuring the district’s financial stability, setting policies, and appointing the superintendent, who serves as the board’s agent and administers district operations. The superintendent serves as ex-officio on the board.

District residents elect School Board members during even-year general elections – three members one year, and four members two years later. All terms last four years.

The board typically meets twice a month with a workshop at 5 p.m., followed by a regular meeting but no earlier than 6 p.m. in Red Wing High School room J-110.

You are welcome to attend the School Board meetings or watch them online via the district’s YouTube channel.

Official meeting information and notes are available in BoardBook.
