Emergency School Closings

Snow blankets the bluffs from which Twin Bluff Middle School gets its name.

The most compelling reason for closing schools is safety of students and employees.

Red Wing Public Schools is committed to having students in school, but we know that weather – this is Minnesota, after all – and emergencies sometimes make canceling or altering the school necessary. The superintendent decides whether to delay school, cancel school or call an E-learning day based on the current circumstances. The district 2023-2024 district calendar allows for up to five E-learning days and three no-school or “snow” days.
