Red Wing School Board members will dedicate their first workshop of 2026 to sharing what they learned at the Minnesota School Boards Association Leadership Conference Jan. 15-16. The workshop will get underway at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, in Red Wing High School room J110.
All seven members and the superintendent attended the annual conference, which offered sessions in artificial intelligence in schools, teacher retention, school finance/levies, board-superintendent relations, student voice, and navigating political pressures.
The board also will discuss raising the district’s mandatory fund balance. Currently, district policy requires general fund reserves of no less than 5%. For 2025-2026, the balance is running 15-18%, which is considered healthy. The workshop will be recorded but not livestreamed. See the full agenda on the BoardBook.
